When Sunrise Yoga opened in Jackson, I was thrilled! Lynn is an exceptional teacher with a compassionate and nurturing spirit. She can help modify any pose so that it is comfortable to do. She offers an array of classes at the studio. There is a class for everyone at Sunrise Yoga! The restorative session is a favorite of mine- very relaxing! Practicing yoga has been such a positive experience for me and it has improved my overall health. I am more relaxed and open to new experiences. Also, the gentle stretching of yoga has helped relieve pain and tightness in my lower back and calves. The sense of friendship and community at the studio is wonderful too! I look forward to every class!

I was first introduced to yoga by some friends that I teach with. They were talking at lunch about looking forward to the yoga class provided free at the local hospital on Saturday mornings. I was curious and I decided to attend a class. It was so different than anything that I had ever tried before. It felt strange, but really good, and the teacher was wonderful, so gentle and nurturing. I loved listening to her voice as she quietly instructed us. After the class, I remember that she came around and asked me how I liked it. We chatted for a few minutes, and I knew that I had just made a new and very special friend. That's just the way Lynn is. She connects with people because she teaches from her heart.

From my first class, I was hooked. Yoga has changed my life. I am much more flexible. My knees no longer hurt and my lower back is stronger and pain free. I sleep better, and I know I handle stress better. I learn something new in every class, and I feel much more comfortable in my own skin.

After I had been practicing for about six months, my husband got curious and decided to give it a try. Now, it is something that we look forward to every week. Yoga nurtures the mind and the spirit as well as the body. We have rediscovered the simple pleasures and the beauty that surrounds us. I thank God every day for sending Lynn and Sunrise Yoga into my life.

Yoga…it is hard to believe that less than a year ago, I had little idea of what yoga really was.  I had simple images in my mind of flexible individuals doing challenging poses while meditating, and I didn’t see myself in the pictures.  Those pictures transformed into a beautiful new shape as I attended my first class with Lynn Brown at Sunrise Yoga, and the new pictures definitely included me in them.

One of the amazing aspects of yoga with Lynn is how well she is able to accommodate any level of student into her program.  The atmosphere at Sunrise Yoga is so warm and welcoming that your spirit is put to ease as soon as you walk through the door.  The very first class I attended felt comfortable, even though the movements were new to me.  Lynn also has a unique way of sensing what each student hopes to achieve in their personal yoga practice and she helps you reach your individual goals.

I have found that my personal yoga practice is of great benefit to my mind, body and spirit.  Yoga works as my “anti-anxiety drug” of sorts by putting my mind at ease with the benefits lasting until my next practice when it is renewed again.  In the months that I have been at Sunrise Yoga my body feels stronger, more flexible and well-grounded.  I find that a clear and focused mind working inside of a grounded and healthy body helps me to think more deeply upon my own personal spirituality.  I also find the connectedness with Lynn and the other yoga students brings me a great deal of peace and joy.  I am sure that there are many beneficial yoga programs, but I think anyone that comes to yoga with Lynn at Sunrise Yoga will agree that there is a unique and inviting atmosphere that will leave you eagerly looking forward to your next practice.
